Featured below is a complete portfolio of the broadcasting work I have completed at both Channel 8 News and Wildcat 91.9. I worked as a News Director, Promotions Director, Reporter, and Producer for these media outlets. 

DOCUMENTARY WORK

Empty Breadbasket | Spring 2022

This short documentary is a collaborative piece from Kansas State Journalism Department. I and a selected few of students were brought in on this project to edit and piece together this story for viewers to hear the stories of food insecurity in primarily rural and urban areas. I was able to edit, script and be featured in the documentary.

CHANNEL 8

Spring 2023 - 2024

During my spring semester of my junior year at Kansas State University. I joined the Channel 8 news class for credit. In the class I was required to find a story to cover for a bi-weekly broadcast. I was in charge of writing my script, filming, interviewing and editing my packages and Vo/Sot. Each show I was able to work in various positions on the Channel 8 team, one week I was anchor for the entire show, and another I was sports, or weather anchor. During my senior semester in spring 2024, I was selected to be the producer for our shows through the duration over our bi-weekly broadcast. In that time I was in charge of structure of show, the content aired and the editing of scripts and packages.

MAHMOUD ABDUL RAUF CAMPUS VISIT

March  2023

Former NBA basketball player Mahmoud Abdul Rauf visit's K-State to speak to students about his life and journey with NBA, and his religion. The event was a collaboration between the Black Student Union and Muslim Association.

KANSAS STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL WELCOME BACK

March 2023

The Manhattan community came together to welcome home the wildcats and celebrate their 2023 season and accomplishment of making it to the Elite 8 in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEES

April 2023

Reporter Breanna Palmer, covers the importance of Bees as the weather begins to change the more locals will be able to see the various types of Bees. Professor Brian Spiesman gives some important information about the Bees and Kansas, and their importance to our ecosystem.

Valor Honey Refugee

January 2024

The Manhattan Resettlement team and Valor Honey, have came together to help several refugees from Afghanistan find housing and employment opportunity through beekeeping. In this story I was able to speak to owner of Valor and a Afghanistan refugee who has been in the program for a few months now to talk about how a program like this is helping not only ingrain refugees in our community. It also is providing mental health support for survivors of PTSD and other mental issues.
