As Assistant Editor in Chief of Manhappenin' Magazine, contributed to the production and editorial oversight of a student-run publication. This leadership role required managing content development, coordinating with team members, and ensuring high-quality standards for print and digital issues.Some key responsibilities to note during my time included collaborating with the Editor in Chief to plan, develop, and execute publication strategies for each issue. Oversaw and guided a team of writers, photographers, and designers to meet editorial goals and deadlines. Conducted content reviews and provided feedback to refine articles, layouts, and multimedia elements. Coordinated team meetings and fostered communication among staff to ensure cohesive and engaging content.Assisted in managing the magazine’s editorial calendar and workflow to meet publishing timelines.Contributed to the creative vision of the magazine, ensuring alignment with its mission and target audience.

During the Spring 2022 print issue of Manhappenin' our staff collaborated on many pieces. This issue was based around the word 'Yesterday' taking on the theme of the 60s' and 70s'. I wrote two pieces in this issue and collaborated with team on other pieces.

"Vinyl Never Going Out of Style" explores the timeless appeal of vinyl records and their resurgence in recent years. In this piece, I interviewed Sarah Cunnik, the owner of a local vinyl shop in Manhattan, Kansas. She shared insights into the shop's history, the current state of vinyl, and the growing popularity of local artists.

This piece highlights old fashion trends coming back into mainstream fashion and showcases local thrifters that I had the honor to interview, both Matt Klassen and Andrew Kemp who sell vintage pieces for locals to take part in the new emerging styles online. This story was one of our magazine's most popular stories since at our release parties we were able to host the two vendors for our audiences.
